Forest Whitaker admitted that he liked working on Repo Men because he got to beat people up the old fashioned way.
The Oscar winning actor teams up with Jude Law for the Miguel Sapochnik's science fiction action thriller.
Speaking to Contactmusic the actor said: "I play a guy who sells body parts in the future. But I take them back if the person doesn't pay.
"The guy I play actually loves his job and loves inflicting pain. For me, it was fun because this is a big action movie, but it's not guns blazing. I get to hit people the old-fashioned way instead of shooting them."
And the actor already has another project in the pipeline in the form of comedy Our Family Wedding, in which he plays Bradford Boyd.
And the actor admits that he was glad to shake off his intense persona and take on a light hearted role that's more like his real self.
"Instead of being this serious guy on the big screen, I could be someone a little closer to myself.
"I'm a fun guy. Honestly, ask anyone. I'm a lot of fun. So, this was a great and freeing experience for me to not play someone so serious."
And 2010 will be a busy year for the actor as he has two other projects, My Own Love Song and The Experiment in post production.
Repo Men is out now.
