Emma Stone has revealed that the first person to congratulate he on landing the role of Gwen Stacey was Bryce Dallas Howard.
Howard had played the character in a previous Spider Man movie and the pair were working together on their new movie The Help when the story broke.
Speaking to The Independent the actress said: "She was maybe the first person that came into my trailer.
"She banged on my door and said 'The internet is saying that you are Gwen Stacy'. And I had just found out.
"They tell you that you're going to play Gwen Stacy and they say, 'It's going out in a minute and a half'. I had 90 seconds to go like this [she hyperventilates] and then it was all over the internet.
"So two minutes later, Bryce was like: 'Hi! Is this true?'"
But before we see Stone in The Amazing Spider Man we are going to be seeing her in The Help, a movie that is already creating some Oscar interest.
The film is an adaptation of the Kathryn Stockett novel and it has already topped the U.S. box office.
The Amazing Spider Man is released 4th July 2012.
