Emily Watson has described War Horse as a simple and powerful story.
The British actress joins the all star cast of the Steve Spielberg directed movie, which received a Royal premiere in London earlier this week.
Watson was on the red carpet promoting the movie and she revealed that she had been a fan of the story having read the book and seen the play before doing the movie.
She takes on the role of Rose Narracott in the film, the mother of central character Albert.
This is the first time that we have seen Watson on the big screen since Oranges and Sunshine last year as she turned her hand to TV with Appropriate Adult.
She is currently filming Anna Karenina, which will see her work with director Joe Wright and Keira Knightley.
War Horse is released 13th January.
