Elizabeth Olsen has revealed that she has always wanted to be an actress.
She is back on the big screen in the new year with Martha Marcy May Marlene, which is directed by Sean Dirkin.
And 2011 really has been a breakthrough year for the actress and she admits that this is all she ever really wanted to do.
Speaking to Collider the actress said: "I was a theatre camp kid. It’s all that my friends and I did. We were always creating movies and plays on the playground.
"Instead of playing on the playground, we were rehearsing musicals that we wrote.
"I was always surrounded by creative people, growing up here in the Valley, and I just had teachers who were really great in high school and that gave me the confidence to pursue it for real, as opposed to a fun fantasy."
And the actress has plenty of projects on the horizon as she has already completed work on Red Lights, which also stars Robert De Niro and Cillian Murphy.
She is also set to star in Very Good Girls and Liberal Arts.
Martha Marcy May Marlene is released 3rd February.
