Elizabeth Banks says that the role of Effie in The Hunger Games suits her.
The actress joins Jennifer Lawrence, Woody Harrelson and Stanley Tucci in the big screen adaptation of The Hunger Games.
Directed by Gary Ross the movie is an adaptation of the popular Suzanne Collins novel.
Speaking to Parade the actress said: "There is no-one else for me to play! And also, she's so suited to me.
"She's funny, she's a little comic relief, she's a little kooky, she's a little dark. All those things really attracted me to her.
"She represents the Capitol. She understands the stakes of the game but she also understands the stakes for her.
"She's one of the few glimpses of the totalitarian regime. She's living the high life in the Capitol."
Banks will next be seen in Our Idiot Brother and has also completed work on Man On A Ledge and Welcome To People.
The Hunger Games is released 23rd March 2012.
