Elizabeth Banks has described playing Effie in The Hunger Games as 'rewarding'.
The actress takes on the role of Effie Trinket in the big screen adaptation of the popular Suzanne Collins novel - which stars Jennifer Lawrence in the lead role.
Speaking to MTV News the actress said: "It's very rewarding to play Effie.
"It's always rewarding to make a movie that you know is going to be entertaining, as well as really thought provoking at the same time.
"That's what's really thrilling for me as an actor, just knowing that we're putting that out there."
The Hunger Games also stars Stanley Tucci, Woody Harrelson and Josh Hutcherson and is directed by Gary Ross.
This year Banks has worked in both TV and movies with film Our Idiot Brother and series 30 Rock.
She has already completed work on Man on a Ledge, Welcome To People and Movie 43.
The Hunger Games is released 23rd March 2012.
