Ed Harris has revealed that suffered on the set of his new movie The Way Back as he fell ill whilst filming in the Sahara desert.
The actor was suffering from food poisoning but continued to shoot on Peter Weir’s epic new movie.
Speaking at the premiere of the movie the actor said: "My worst day was when I was sick - Jim Sturgess and I are dragging this sled up the biggest sand dune of the whole film and I couldn't even stand up, I was so weak."
"I hadn't been keeping anything in and Peter was kind enough to let me go take a little break at some point that day for a couple of hours because I couldn't stand up.
“We were dragging this thing up that hill and I was thinking, 'Just say cut, man'."
The movie, which also stars Colin Farrell and Jim Sturgess, follows a group of prisoners as they escape from a Siberian gulag and trek to India.
The actor is currently working on Man On A Ledge and has already finished work on That’s What I Am, which is directed by Michael Pavone, and Salvation Boulevard, which also stars Marisa Tomei, Jennifer Connelly and Pierce Brosnan.
The Way Back is released 26th December.
