Due Date

Due Date rules at the UK box office after it beat off tough competition from Jackass 3D.

The movie is the first from filmmaker Todd Phillips since the release of The Hangover last summer and sees him work with Robert Downey Jr as well as reuniting him with Zach Galifianakis.

High-strung father-to-be Peter Highman is forced to hitch a ride with aspiring actor Ethan Tremblay on a road trip in order to make it to his child's birth on time.

The movie grossed £2.3 million this weekend to take the top spot and hold off Jacksss 3D, the third outing onto the big screen for the hit TV show.

The film took £1.6 million and had to settle for second while Despicable Me dropped just a single place to this week's number three.

Saw 3D spent just one week at number one and dropped three places to number four while former number one Paranormal Activity fell two places to round off the top five.

Both RED and The Social Network were also down two places and finished the weekend at six and seven respectfully.

The third new entry on the chart came in at eight in the form of Let Me In, which is an American remake of the critical hit Let The Right One In from last year.

And there was another new entry in at nine as Mike Leigh returned to the top ten with his new movie, which is winning rave reviews, Another Year.

This week's biggest faller was Burke & Hare and was down four places to number ten.
