Due Date

Due Date

Due Date has remained the number one movie at the UK box office as it held off competition from sci-fi flick Skyline.

It's the second week at the top of the chart for the comedy, which is the latest movies from filmmaker Todd Phillips and stars Robert Downey Jr and Zach Galifianakis.

The movie took a further £1.8 million this week to prevent Skyline, the new movie from Greg and Colin Strause from taking the top spot.

Skyline is the first in a series of alien invasion movies set to hit the big screen, Monsters and Battle: Los Angeles are also on the way.

Strange lights descend on the city of Los Angeles, drawing people outside like moths to a flame where an extraterrestrial force threatens to swallow the entire human population off the face of the Earth.

Taking £1.2 million this weekend the movie was the only new entry inside the top ten this week and had to settle for second place.

Despicable Me was a none mover this week at number three while Jackass 3D dropped two places from to number four.

Saw 3D dropped just a single place to five while Red and The Social Network were also none movers as they remained at six and seven.

Former #1 Paranormal Activity 2 was this week's biggest faller as it dropped three places from five to number eight and animation movie Alpha & Omega climbed four places from thirteen back into the top ten at number nine.

Mike Leigh's new movie Another Year dropped just a single place to round off this week's top ten.
