Dolph Lundgren has revealed that he struggled with the comedy side of The Expendables.
The actor star reunites with Sylvester Stallone for the Oscar winner's latest movie, which he wrote, directed as well as starred in, but admits that comedy didn't come naturally to him.
Speaking to MSN the actor said: "Stallone let me have a lot of fun with it, and not be so stoic or serious all the time - but it was hard because I'm not known for my great comedies.
"If you're a big guy, you have to be comedic and easy-going, otherwise you're just too threatening. But it was difficult and Stallone was yelling at me and pushing me.
"I don't mind killing people or crying, but at four in the morning, when I'm burned out emotionally, don't ask me to be funny."
And while the actor struggled with comedy the actor elements of the movie were straight forward as he did his own stunts.
"I did pretty much everything. I'm trying to hang in there for a few more years. I still spar and do martial arts. I'm kinda used to getting hit for real, so movie stunts are not that difficult for me.
"I fight with guys half my age, so they have to take it easy on me, but I get the chance to have a good workout."
The Expendables is out now.
