Diane Kruger has revealed that she is offered roles in War Movies every week because she is German.
The actress admitted that she is a little uncomfortable about appearing in movies that look at Germany's side in the war.
Speaking at the UK press conference for Inglorious Basterds the actress said: "Being German, as you probably can imagine, I get offered a World War II piece once a week."
"I never wanted to do that, because I didn't want to be associated with that part of my country's history."
However this week the actress joins an all star cast list in Quentin Tarantino's latest movie Inglorious basterds, which is set in World War II.
"This came along and it was one of the very few times you read a script and go, 'Oh my God, he actually wrote this for me!'" she said. "That wasn't true at all, [Quentin] probably didn't know who I was at that point, but I really felt like I was born to play this part.
"I knew deep in my heart that if I got the opportunity to meet with him, which took a long time and a lot of convincing, that he could hire me."
