Diablo Cody

Diablo Cody is set to bring 1990s TV teen drama Sweet Valley High to the big screen.

The popular series, adapted from the books by Francine Pascal, ran from 1994 to 1997, chronicling the lives of twin high school students Elizabeth and Jessica Wakefield in California.

Now Juno writer Cody is in talks with bosses at Universal to transform the tales into a feature length movie, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

Codt shot to fame when she penned the script to indie movie hit Juno back in 2007, a film that went on to be nominated for a Best Picture Oscar.

While Juno missed out on the Best Picture gong Cody did pick up an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay.

The screenwriter has returned with her first movie since Juno in the form of Jennifer's Body, which stars Megan Fox.

Jennifer's Body is released 6th November.
