Following the recent hype around the creation of new short feature film ‘The Commuter’, Slumdog Millionaire star Dev Patel has joined the cast in the lead role.
He will star alongside Ed Westwick and Pamela Anderson in the film, which will be shot entirely in mobile HD on the new Nokia N8 smartphone.
The Commuter is a fast paced, smart and quirky action comedy that showcases the HD 720p filming capabilities of the new handset.
The groundbreaking production also features two members of the public, who have won the chance to star in scenes alongside Ed Westwick and Pamela Anderson.
The film is being directed by one of the UK’s hottest upcoming directorial pairings, the McHenry Brothers, who have just finished work on their first feature length film, Jack Boots on Whitehall, featuring Ewan McGregor, Rosamund Pike, Richard E Grant and Timothy Spall.
Actor Dev Patel said "I can’t wait to start filming with McHenry Brothers on Nokia’s N8 short film, The Commuter. I think it’s going to be a really cool and edgy piece!"
John Nichols, head of marketing said: "We wanted to showcase the HD functionality of the Nokia N8 handset in a creative and engaging way and we think our short film The Commuter, with its stellar cast of British and Hollywood stars, will help us create something very special.
"We're all really excited to start filming with the cast and members of the public who have won parts alongside their acting icons."
