Date Night has opened at the top of the U.S. box office, narrowly denying Clash of the Titans a second week at number one.
Tina Fey and Steve Carell team up for their latest comedy as the movie grossed $27.1 million in it's opening weekend.
Claire and Phil Foster (Fey and Carell) are a typical suburban couple whose lives, including their weekly date nights of dinner and a movie, have become routine.
To re-ignite the marital spark, they visit a trendy Manhattan bistro where a case of mistaken identity turns their evening into the ultimate date night-gone-awry.
But as Claire and Phil take their unexpected walk on the wild side, they begin to remember what made them so special together.
The movie only just saw off Clash of the Titans, which grossed $26.8 million, having just spent one week at number one.
Dreamworks' latest movie How To Train Your Dragon held onto the number three spot while Why Did I Get Married Too?, the latest movie from Tyler Perry, fell one place to this week's four.
There were also one place drops for The Last Song, which rounded off this week's top five, and Alice in Wonderland, which dropped out of the top five at six.
Hot Tub Time Machine, The Bounty Hunter and Diary of A Wimpy Kid also all dropped one place finishing the week at six, seven and eight respectfully.
Letter From God was the only other new entry in side the top ten, opening at number ten.
