Darren Aronofsky has revealed that Wolverine sequel will be called The Wolverine.
Whilst talking to HitFix the filmmaker, who will be directing the project, has revealed that it is in no way a sequel to Gavin Hood's 2009 movie.
Hugh Jackman will once again reprise the role of Logan and will follow his forbidden romance with a Japanese woman, who is promised to another man.
X-Men Origins: Wolverine was the first solo X-Men movie and grossed in excess of 4373 million at the global box office last year.
But before Aronofsky gets to work on The Wolverine he has promotional duties for his latest movie Black Swan, which stars Natalie Portman.
The movie has already won over the critics on the festival circuit and it is an early favourite for Oscar success next year.
Black Swan is the first movie for Aronofsky since The Wrestler, which brought Mickey Rourke a Best Actor Oscar nomination.
