Darren Aronofsky is rumoured to be in talks with 20th Century Fox to direct Wolverine 2
The project would see him reunite with actor Hugh Jackman, who is reprising the role of Logan, after the pair worked together on The Fountain.
Aronofsky had also been in the running for Superman: Man Of Steel, losing out to 300 filmmaker Zack Snyder, but it seems like a blockbuster could be on the cards.
The second Wolverine movie will be set in Japan as Logan travels to the East to train with a Samurai warrior.
Aronofsky is already making waves with his new movie Black Swan, the first film for the director since the triumph that was The Wrestler back in 2009.
Black Swan is already surrounded in Oscar whispers and is being tipped to pick up nominations and possibly gongs when the ceremony rolls round next year.
But Wolverine 2 would be a first big budget blockbuster for the filmmaker.
