Danny Dyer has revealed how he went on a military training regime to prepare for his new movie Age of Heroes.
The movie, which also stars Sean Bean, is the true story of the formation of James Bond writer Ian Fleming's commando unit.
Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph the actor said: "I can make the character believable, but if I've got a bit of a belly about me and three chins, it breaks the spell a little bit."
"This was just about getting my body in shape so that I could feel comfortable enough that I could play the commando in away that people were going to buy it."
And the actor also admitted that he was excited about being involved in the movie.
"I was really flattered that they came to me 'cause it was a war movie that I had to take very seriously 'cause it was about commandos and stuff.
"It's a trilogy and if it does well we'll be shooting the next one next year. The first one was set in the snow, the second one will be set in the desert and the third one's in the jungle, so fingers crossed it does well.
"Hopefully it's going to put me back on the map and people are going to start taking me seriously as an actor."
Age Of Heroes is released 1st February.
