Daniel Radcliffe says that The Woman in Black is the perfect first project since leaving Harry Potter behind.
The actor will return to the big screen early next year with an adaptation of the popular Susan Hill novel, which is directed by James Watkins.
Speaking to Empire magazine the actor said: "I feel like I have landed on my feet with this being the first thing after Harry.
"Because this is very different, in that I’m playing a father and it’s a more grown up film, but it’s not so scandalously different that people will say, ‘Oh, he’s just trying too hard; he’s trying to shock us into thinking he’s someone else now.
"I think have taken away some of the ammunition people can throw."
Radcliffe has left behind the Harry Potter franchise this summer as Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 hit the big screen.
And they have gone out with a bang as the movie has gone on to gross well over $1billion at the global box office to be not just the biggest movie of 2011 but the third biggest grossing film of all time.
The Woman In Black is released 10th February 2012
