Daniel Craig has admitted that he dieted for his new role Aliens & Cowboys.
The actor takes on the role of stranger Jake Lonergan who finds himself fighting of an alien invasion in Arizona.
Speaking to Sky News the actor said: "I dieted because I wanted to get skinny because I didn't think cowboys should be pumped up."
The movie sees Jon Favreau return to the director's chair while Harrison Ford is also on the cast list and Craig described working on the movie as a ' joy'.
"I wanted to be a cowboy more than I want to be anything else. I had a plastic Winchester toy gun which was free at a fair," he explained.
"It's been a joy, I've been lucky and doing it with Harrison Ford, too, so two for one."
Cowboys & Aliens, which has already topped the U.S. box office is the first film of the year for the actor who has a whole host of other projects coming our way this year.
Dream House sees him star alongside Rachel Weisz while he has lent his voice to The Adventures of Tintin, which is directed by Steven Spielberg.
But he is all set to take on the role of Mikael Blomkvist in David Fincher's America remake of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
Cowboys & Aliens is released 19th August.
