Daniel Craig has revealed that Sam Mendes has been 'working his arse off' in the pre-production stage of the new Bond movie.
Craig is set to reprise the role of 007 in Skyfall, which will be the third movie in the franchise for the actor, while Mendes is in the director's chair.
And Craig reveals that the pair have been working together before shooting has got underway.
Speaking to Time Out magazine the actor said: "He's English, he's Cambridge-educated, he's smart. He's lived with Bond all his life, he grew up with Bond the way I did.
"I said to him, 'We have to do this together, we have exactly the same reference points, we both like the same Bond movies and we both like the same bits in the same Bond movies we like'."
"We sat down and we just rabbited for hours about Live and Let Die or From Russia with Love, and talked about little scenes that we knew from them.
"That's how we started talking about it. That's what we tried to instil in the script. He's been working his arse off to tie all these things together so they make sense - in a Bond way."
Filming on Skyfall is now underway and the movie is set to hit the big screen in October of next year.
But before we see Craig as 007 he is set to take over the role of Mikael Blomkvist in David Fincher's remake of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
