Dan Aykroyd has hinted at the plotline for the forthcoming third movie in the Ghostbusters franchise.
Aykroyd is returning to the film series, along with Bill Murray, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson, for the first time since 1989, they first burst onto cinema screens in
In an interview with MTV he said: “There will be a whole new generation that has to be trained, and that whole new generation will be led by an individual who you’ll all love when you meet him but I’m not going to tell you anything yet.”
Aykroyd, along with Ramis, penned the script as well as starring in the film and Ramis has returned to the role of scriptwriter for the new movie.
Despite early whispers a studio representative has denied rumours that Superbad and Knocked Up filmmaker Judd Apatow was to direct the new movie.
Aykroyd also further hinted that the new recruits will be able to travel to different dimensions by using a ‘neuron splitter’.
A release date for the film has not yet been announced.
