Dakota Fanning claims that sharing a kiss with Kristen Stewart in their new movie The Runaways was 'no big deal'.

The Twilight stars reunite for the Floria Sigismondi directed movie which looks at the rise and success of all girl rock band The Runaways as Fanning and Stewart take on the roles pf Cherie Currie and Joan Jett.

And while the pair lock lips in the movie it was all in a days work for Fanning.

Speaking to Marie Claire the actress said: "It's out of the way, and it was with my friend and a girl - no pressure," she explained.

"It was not something Cherie [Currie] and Joan [Jett] ever really spoke about, and that's how it was filmed - as not that big of a deal."

And while Fanning has enjoyed success for many years the actress hopes that her new movie will show that she is no longer a child actress.

"When you start out young, people get really attached to who you are at 6 years old," she said.

"I hope that The Runaways was kind of a moment to be like, 'You know, I'm not that young little girl anymore, but I'm still not all grown up, either'."

The actress is back on the big screen this week as she returns to the role of Jane in The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, the third film in the franchise.

The Runaways is released 27th August.
