Colin Firth revealed that he was in a daze after he landed his Best Actor Oscar nomination.
It was maiden Oscar nod for the British actor after his performance in his latest movie A Single Man.
Speaking to the press at the Academy Awards Nominees Luncheon he said: "This really is the first time, I'm completely unfamiliar with it - one is in a perpetual daze.
"On Oscar night - I will be in a daze, I think that's quite a good place to be actually."
However the actor faces tough competition for the award having been nominated alongside Jeff Bridges, Jeremy Renner, George Clooney and Morgan Freeman.
Bridges has dominated the awards circuit picking up the Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild awards for his performance in Crazy Heart.
But before the OScars Firth is also nominated at this weekend's Bafta awards, where he is once again up for Best Actor.
