Clint Eastwood has admitted that not being nominated for Best Picture and Best Director at next month's Oscars has not offended him.
Eastwood's latest picture Invictus, which follows the story of Nelson Mandela as he tries to unite South Africa through sport after his release from prison, was a pre-award season favourite but the movie has struggled to bring in the nominations.
Speaking to Moviefone the director turned filmmaker said: "We had two 'Best Pictures', Unforgiven and Million Dollar Baby, with him in it."
Eastwood added: "Look, I've been around a long time and probably they should give somebody else a look.
"I don't think too much about that stuff. I didn't think about it then, I just got lucky with those two."
However Morgan Freeman and Matt Damon have secured nominations for their performances, Freeman for Best Actor and a Best Supporting Actor nod for Damon.
This is the second year in a row that an Eastwood movie has been overlooked by the Academy after Gran Torino missed out on a Best Picture and Best Director nod last year.
