Clash of the Titans has held off strong competition from How To Train Your Dragon and Kick Ass to be the #1 movie in the UK.
Louis Leterrier's movie is a remake of the 1981 classic and sees Sam Worthington take over the role of half and half human Perseus.
The movie grossed over £5.6 million in it's opening weekend to claim the top spot, the film is also number one in America.
Dreamworks' new project How To Train Your Dragon had to settle for second spot, grossing £4.8 million since it's release last week.
The movie follows a hapless young Viking who aspires to hunt dragons becomes the unlikely friend of a young dragon himself, and learns there may be more to the creatures than he assumed.
There was another new entry at three as Matthew Vaughn's controversial new comic book movie grossed £3.8 million.
Last week's number one Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang slid three places to this week's number four while Alice and Wonderland rounded off the top five after falling three places.
The Blind Side was also down three as it finished this week at number six. Despite that it was a great weekend at the box office as all of the top six movies broke the $1 billion barrier.
Robert Pattinson couldn't quite work his box office magic with his new movie Remember Me as it was a fourth new entry at number seven.
This week's biggest fallers came in the form of Shutter Island and The Bounty Hunter as they both dropped four places ending the week at eight and nine.
