Paramount Pictures have finally announced that little known actor Chris Pine has been cast in the role of Captain Kirk in the new Star Trek movie.It has been revealed that the announcement was delayed due to the actor being offered a role in White Jazz alongside George Clooney, which would lead to a clash in shooting schedules, and the actor was left with a tough decision.Pine is a surprise choice given his limited experience despite a wide range of television roles he has only done a handful of movies.He is best known for his role as Jake Harding in Just My Luck alongside Lindsay Lohan. He was also in last years Smokin' Aces.The J.J Abrams Star Trek project also announced that Lord of the Rings actor Keith Urban has landed the role of Leonard 'Bones' McCoy, the medical officer aboard the Starship Enterprise.Urban and Pine join Zachary Quinto, Sylar in Heroes, Simon Pegg, Eric Bana and Pirates of the Caribbean's Zoe Saldana who have already been cast.Helen Earnshaw
