Chris Pine says that is was quite an overwhelming feeling to get back onto the Enterprise set.
The actor is set to reprise the role of James T. Kirk in the currently unnamed Star Trek sequel, the filming of which was completed last month.
The first JJ Abrams directed Star Trek movie hit the big screen back in 2009 and Pine admits that it was nice to be back on set after such a long time.
Speaking to Collider the actor said: "The first day going back to work we did all the bridge stuff.
"And that's always... Even if you're not a fan, and I was never a fan of the series... But you cannot help but step on that bridge and feel kind of overwhelmed.
"It's just the set, you're like 'God, I gotta fly this thing!'"
As with any Abrams picture the movie is being kept top secret and nothing about the plot is currently known.
Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana and Simon Pegg are just some of the actors who will be reprising their roles while Benedict Cumberbatch is one of the big addition - however it is not yet known which character he will play.
The Star Trek sequel is released 17th May.
