Chris Hemsworth believes that Thor 2 can really benefit from incorporating aspects of Game of Thrones into the new film.
Alan Taylor, who was a director on the hit TV show, will take over the director's chair from Kenneth Branagh on Thor 2 in what is a rare venture onto the big screen for the director.
But Hemsworth believes that the way that Asgard looks and feels could be influenced for the better by Taylor.
Speaking to MTV News the actor said: "[Game of Thrones] had a real mythical element to it, but it was rooted in such an organic and tangible world.
"I think Asgard could really benefit from that sort of a grittier, aged feel to it and not so ethereal. The big thing about the comics for me was the origin story.
"Thor was interesting, but what I found more fascinating was the other worlds and realms that you can be taken off into,"
Hemsworth is flying high at the moment with Avengers Assemble which has stormed to the top of the U.S. box office taking $200.3 million in it's opening weekend.
Filming on Thor 2 is set to get underway later this year with Tom Hiddleston and Natalie Portman set to return.
