Chris Hemsworth has admitted that Joss Whedon had a hand in helping him land the role of Thor.
The Australian actor is set to see his star rocket this summer as he takes on the title role in the Kenneth Branagh directed blockbuster.
Speaking to The Coventry Telegraph Hemsworth says: "Joss is fantastic. I worked with him on Cabin In The Woods. He wrote and produced it with director Drew Goddard.
"Right back when I was shooting Cabin In The Woods there was the casting for Thor.
"The process was ending and he said, 'Why aren't you involved in it?' and I said, "Well I was earlier, but I've been in and out of it - What's going on?' And he said, 'I'll give Ken a call,' and he called Ken Branagh.
And Hemsworth is set to reunite with Whedon as he joins Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo and Robert Downey Jr in The Avengers.
Thor is set to be the first blockbuster of the summer as Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins also star.
Thor is released 27th April.
