Chris Evans says that he was drawn to What's Your Number? because of the similarities that he had with the character.
The actor switches the big budget blockbuster for comedy this week as he teams up with Anna Faris in the Mark Mylod directed movie.
And the actor admits that he felt that he connected with the character in the movie.
Speaking to HeyYouGuys the actor said: "I think we have a lot of similarities, Colin and myself.
"Sometimes you find a character that’s completely against type and you really sink your teeth into it and go somewhere radically different.
"Other times you find someone that’s close to home and you just connect. Again, I hadn’t done a comedy in a while.
"I thought the script was hilarious and I love Anna and I felt the character was someone I could certainly identify with. So there was a comfort there.
2011 has been a great year for the actor as he starred as Captain America earlier this summer - a role he will reprise next year with The Avengers.
What's Your Number? Is released 30th September.
