Chris Evans is rumoured to have been offered the role of Captain America in the latest Marvel project to have been given the green light.
According to The Hollywood Reporter the actor has been given an offer that would see him appear in anything up to three Captain America movies, as well as other Marvel movies including The Avengers.
However this offer is yet to be confirmed by the studio.
Evans was just one of may names linked to this role including Channing Tatum, Ryan Phillippe and Garrett Hedlund.
But Alex Ross, the artist who redesigned Captain America for Marvel, called for an older actor, naming Mad Men's John Hamm, to be given the role last week.
This would be the second marvel project for the actor after starring as Johnny Storm in two The Fantastic Four films, both of which did not do well critically or commercially.
But with the filming on the movie expected to get underway this summer Evans' association with the project could be thrown into jeopardy as he is scheduled to film What's Your Number? later this year.
