Channing Tatum has revealed that he picked up an injury in a rather delicate area whilst filming The Eagle.

Tatum will be back on the big screen later this year with his new movie, which sees him team up with filmmaker Kevin McDonald.

Speaking to Access Hollywood the actor said: "It’s kind of a painful story. We were [filming] in a hypothermic river all day, for 13 hours.

"This poor guy had to run about 15 minutes up the hill to get this water that they’re boiling up by the trucks and run it down and then pour it down our wetsuits to keep our core warm so we can stay in the water all day," he explained.

"We wrapped the scene, start walking up and here he comes with the bottle. Normally, he just poured it down - and it was boiling water - what happened was he didn’t get all the way down to the river to dilute it with river water."

"[I went] straight to the hospital. Which is very, very humiliating holding your little burnt man!"

And we are going to be seeing a lot of tatum over the next year as he has already completed work on Ten Year and The Vow and has 21 Jump Street and Love and Honour in the pipeline.

The Eagle is released 25th March.
