Channing Tatum wants to repeat Jason Statham's success with his own acting career.
Tatum has had a good year so far but looks set to explode onto the big screen this week with the release of G.I. Joe: rise of the Cobra.
But the young star wants to replicate the success that Statham has enjoyed in recent years in both British and Hollywood movies.
In an interview with Metro he said: 'Look, he's done some really cool, really, really great work. I don't know if I can compare, you know? I only hope that I can be up to where he is one day."
"I can't do the same career path as the guys who came before me. Nowadays there's either gonna be really small films or really huge tent-pole movies like GI Joe, with very few pictures in between."
Tatum joins an all star cast of Dennis Quaid, Christopher Eccleston and Sienna Miller in G.I. Joe, the last big budget blockbuster movie of the summer.
In the last couple of years Tatum has been building up his acting CV as he has mixed and matched his types of roles appearing in Stop Loss, Step Up, and Fighting.
He was last seen on the big screen in Public Enemies alongside Johnny Depp. And the success looks set to continue with Dear John and possibly The Eagle of the North in the pipeline.
