Casey Affleck has revealed that he doesn't seek out dark, violent roles.
The actor really showed off his acting caliber when he starred in crime drama Gone Baby Gone, which was directed by his brother Ben Affleck, before going on to play a murderer in The Killer Inside Me.
Speaking to MSN the actor said: "The things that I want to do never come along.
"The thing is, you have to stay open. You might think 'What I want to do is a Jane Austen movie!' But they never come along! But if you think 'I want to do a crime novel', Pride And Prejudice will show up on your doorstep.
"It's just the way it is for me, and you've got to take the best of what's available and try to stay open to everything."
And there's another crime role on the horizon for the actor as he takes on the role of a mobster in Ridley Scott's new movie The Kind One.
The actor is also going to work on The F-Word as well as being linked to Another Bullshit Night in Suck City and Ness.
