It’s time to rev up your engines for new Disney-Pixar animation Cars 2, which races into cinemas on Friday 22 July, and FILMCLUB - the education charity and experts in films for young people - sent 11-year-old junior reporter Jack to the UK premiere of the film to find out all about the new movie.
Despite the pouring rain, the intrepid young reporter grabbed chats with John Lasseter – the Head of Pixar Studios and Cars 2 director – as well as Sir Michael Caine and Jason Isaacs, who lend their voices to characters in the film.
Sir Michael Caine (who voices the character of Finn McMissile) said; “The reason to watch this movie is for the technology of it, as opposed to just the story.
It’s got a great story and its fun that but you’ll see stuff on the screen here that you won’t believe, that has been done by people and you go, “I don’t believe people actually did this! How do they do that?”
It’s John Lasseter for a start, whose a computer genius, we used to call them geeks but now we call them computer billionaires!”
FILMCLUB is a nationwide education charity and expert in film for young people. The initiative offers access to thousands of popular and classic films from around the world for young people and teachers to watch and discuss in their school film clubs.
