A Captain America sequel will be set in modern day according to writer Stephen McFeely.
McFeely, along with Christopher Markus, penned the screenplay for Captain America: The First Avenger, which hit the big screen earlier this summer.
The movie left Steve Rogers stranded in 21st Century New York and it seems that is where the next instalment of the franchise will take place.
Speaking to The HD Room McFeely said: "I think it's safe for us to say that it's primarily set in the modern day.
"That seems to have been the biggest question people have been wondering about regarding the sequel.
"We've been left with room to explore Cap entering the modern day wondering, 'What is all this? What's happened to the world' and so on."
But before we see Chris Evans in a Captain America sequel he will be starring in The Avengers alongside Robert Downey Jr and Chris Hemsworth.
The Avengers is released 27th April 2012.
