Bryce Dallas Howard has revealed that she was shocked at the level of passion the twilight fans have for the franchise.
The actress takes over the role of Victoria in Twilight Saga: Eclipse, which is released in the UK next week, taking over the part from Rachelle Lefevre.
And while Howard has been involved in a franchise before, starring in Spider Man 3, she admits that she was unprepared for the attention of the fans.
She told MTV: "I feel, honestly, pressure being part of it because you don't want to let anyone down," she said.
"People, myself included, have stayed up at night reading the books over and over and over again, and watching the films over and over and over again, and really loving it so, so intensely.
"Whereas Spider-Man, people are sentimental about it, they love it and are into it and that kind of stuff. Whereas this is passionate."
But the actresses job was made easier because her character had already been established by Lefevre in the first movie Twilight.
"The role and the character have been established. It's so important to honour that in terms of the storytelling. When I do a film, I always have all these questions that I'm asking myself, and [for Victoria] someone has mastered that and answered all those questions.
"Why reinvent the wheel? She created an incredible character."
Twilight Saga: Eclipse is released 9th July
