Bryan Singer has denied rumours that Hugh Jackman is set to make a cameo appearance in X-Men: First Class.
Singer, who directed the first two X-Men movies, is producing the prequel while Matthew Vaughn is in the director's chair.
But Jackman is rumoured to have been spotted at a filming location from the movie in Georgia but Singer has denied his involvement.
Speaking to The Coventry Telegraph he said: "He's not in the movie, he's in the Wolverine movies."
And Singer went on to talk about the period in which the film is set. "It's a really cool and fun story. It will be the first Silver Age Marvel movie.
"We've set First Class in a time when the X-Men were conceived in the early '60s, up against political events that were happening - the early civil rights movement - and we have these kinds of events at a time when the world didn't know mutants existed."
X-Men: First Class brings together an impressive cast of James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Kevin Bacon, Nicholas Hoult and January Jones as the film will tell the early story of some of the most famous mutants.
X-Men: First Class will be released next year.
