Brian Kirk is rumoured to be in talks to directed the Thor sequel.
Earlier this summer Kenneth Branagh announced that he would not be returning to the director's chair for a second movie, despite the success of Thor this summer.
But it appears that it hasn't taken too long to find a possible replacement as Kirk is allegedly in negotiations.
This would be the first big budget movie for Kirk, not that that did Brannagh any harm, after mainly working in TV for the last few years.
He made his feature film debut back in 2996 with Middletown but has since worked on the likes of Dexter, Broadwalk Empire and Game of Thrones.
He is currently filming TV series Great Expectations, which is set to hit small screens next year.
Chris Hemsworth is set to reprise the role of Thor for the second film, a part he is currently playing in The Avengers.
Thor topped the box office back in May in both the U.S. and the UK and went on to gross over $447 million worldwide.
