Brandon Routh has revealed that he would love to return to the role of Superman.
Routh took on the role as the Man of Steel back in 2006 in Bryan Singer's movie Superman Returns but so far hasn't been linked to the new movie.
Christopher and Jonathan Nolan as well as David Goyer are all working on a script while Chris Nolan works as executive producer on the film.
Speaking at a round table at Comic Con to promote his new movie Scott Pilgrim vs the World he said: "I certainly would [love to play Superman again].
"As much as I say I'm working to shake that off or shake it up, I certainly don't want to extinguish or get rid of it because it was a great honour and I would love to be able to return as that character."
"I think the brothers Nolan are both very talented and so that makes it a different kind of film that would be than Bryan’s vision, which I think was a very nice film that I’m very proud of."
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is another comic book adaptation for Routh as he stars alongside Michael Cera, Chris Evans and Anna Kendrick in Edgar Wright's version of Lee O'Malley's comic series.
Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is released 25th August.
