Bradley Cooper has described landing a Golden Globe nomination for his performance in Silver Linings Playbook as 'surreal'.
The funnyman bagged a Best Actor (Comedy/Musical) nod for his performance in the David O. Russell directed movie as the film picked up three other nominations.
It was also nominated for Best Picture (Comedy/Musical), Best Actress (Comedy/Musical) for Jennifer Lawrence and Best Screenplay for Russell.
Speaking to Today the actor said "It's a small film and it's a word-of-mouth movie. The fact that it's getting this kind of attention [means] hopefully more people will go see it.
"We loved doing it. We care so much about the film and it's amazing to be recognised. And then on a personal level, it's just surreal... I grew up as the nerd who would wake up to watch the [Golden Globe] announcements.
"To hear [presenter and Hangover co-star] Ed Helms say Silver Linings Playbook was just incredible."
This is a first Golden Globe nomination for Cooper in what is the best role of his career to date.
The movie has been tipped to be a real Oscar contender and Cooper could well be in the mix for a Best Actor nod.
