Bill Nighy has waded in on the rumours surrounding a possible Pirates of the Caribbean calling the announcement of the film 'unreliable'.
It was believed that the movie was all set to go ahead with Johnny Depp reprising the central role of Captain Jack Sparrow after the project was called a 'priority' for Disney by producer Jerry Bruckheimer.
But Depp's future with the movie is still uncertain after the Dick Cook, the studio's chairman, left his position.
Nighy played Davy Jones in Dead Man's Chest and At World's End and believes that the film might not go ahead, however admitted that if it did he would love to be part of it.
In an interview with Sci-Fi Wire the actor said: "I understand that there was an announcement that there was going to be a fourth, and now I've been told since that that was not a reliable announcement."
"I would love to be in it, because I had a wonderful time with those. They were great people, and those films are beloved, so it would be great to be in a fourth one."
Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides is expected to be released in 2011.
