Bill Nighy says that the remake of Total Recall is in 'safe hands'.
The popular 1990's movie is being remade by director Len Wiseman starring Nighty, Kate Beckinsale, Colin Farrell, Ethan Hawke and Jessica Biel.
And while the original is still help in high regard Nighy says fans should 'relax' as the movie is being directed by the right person.
Speaking to Collider the actor said: "The original is treasured by people, I know, but I think I can help them relax. I think it's in very, very good hands.
"I've worked with Len Wiseman before, on the Underworld series, in which I was a vampire. The first two of those were his first two films. And I admire him beyond measure. I think he's tremendous, as a man and as a director.
"It's a cliché, but he can really tell a story. With Die Hard 4.0, he did a brilliant job.
"If Total Recall is going to be remade, I think it's in very good, beyond safe, really brilliant hands."
Nighy is enjoying box office success at the moment with animation movie Arthur Christmas, which opened at number two in the UK over the weekend.
He has also completed work on The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, Clash of the Titans 2 and Jack the Giant Killer.
Total Recall is released 22nd August 2013.
