Benedict Cumberbatch will go head-to-head with Jonny Lee Miller for the Best Actor prize at Britain's Evening Standard Theatre Awards for their starring roles in Danny Boyle's Frankenstein.
The Slumdog Millionaire director returned to his stage roots to helm the National Theatre production and the play's stars have now won nominations for their roles and will compete against each other in the Best Actor category.
The play is also in the running for the Best Design prize, while other big names to receive nominations include Mike Leigh, who will compete for the Best Director title for his play Grief, and Kristin Scott Thomas (Betrayal), who will take on Sheridan Smith (Flare Path) in the Best Actress category.
The awards ceremony will take place in London on 20 November (11).
