Ben Affleck says that it 'incredible' just to be in the mix with some great directors at the Golden Globes let alone win.
Affleck was the big winner at the Golden Globes at the weekend as he scooped Best Director while his movie Argo won Best Picture - Drama.
Affleck was nominated alongside Steven Spielberg, Ang Lee, Kathryn Bigelow and Quentin Tarantino and he revealed that these were filmmakers that he had long admitted.
Taking to Twitter he said: "To hear your name included among directors I've long admired is incredible. To win? Wow, thank you HFPA. #GoldenGlobes.
Earlier in the week Affleck was overlooked for Best Director when the Oscar nominations were revealed but Argo will battle it out for Best Picture.
Argo is just Affleck's third directorial outing and followed up the critically acclaimed Gone Baby Gone and The Town.
He will be back in front of the camera later this year with To The Wonder and Runner, Runner.
