Ben Affleck has revealed that he has low expectations for how Argo would perform at the box office.
Argo marked the return of Affleck to the director's chair for the first time since The Town - he also starred in the movie.
And the film has been both a critical and commercial hit much to the surprise of the filmmaker.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly the actor said: "I had very low expectations for Argo's performance.
"I just hoped that over time people would find the movie."
Argo is also expected to be a major Oscar contender with many tipping it to be nominated for Best Picture and Affleck himself to be nominated for Best Director.
We will be seeing Affleck back on the big screen in the new year as he stars in Terrence Malick's latest film To The Wonder.
He has also completed work on Runner Runner, with Gemma Arterton and Anthony Mackie, which is due out next year.
Argo is out now.
