Avatar remains at the top of the UK box office making it the fourth week it has reigned over the silver screen.
Despite falling to Alvin and the Chipmunks the sci-fi giant retained the top spot last week and comfortably holds on grossing a further £4.7 million.
Avatar has gone on to become the second biggest grossing movie of all time, and is the quickest film to ever break the $1billion barrier, and is now closing in on Titanic.
Sherlock Holmes was also a non mover at two grossing just over £2 million as a second movie is rumoured to be being fast tracked this week.
Robert Downey Jr has left movie Cowboys and Aliens due to a schedule clash with Guy Ritichie’s second movie on the legendary sleuth.
The first new entry is in ay three in form of vampire movie Daybreakers which stars Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe and Sam Neill.
Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel fell one place to four while comedy It’s Complicated was new at five.
Meryl Streep has been nominated for a Golden Globe for her performance in the film, as well as the film bagging a nomination too.
It’s been a good weekend at the box office as all of the top five broke the £1 million barrier.
There was another new entry at six as another Cormac Mccarthy adaptation makes it to the big screen in the form of The Road.
There were three place slips for Did You Hear About The Morgans? Nine and St Trinian’s 2: The Legend of Fritton’s Gold.
Sex & Drugs & Rock & Roll, a biopic about Ian Dury, was the final new entry to round off the top ten.
