Audrey Tautou has revealed that she has no real desire to work in Hollywood.
The actress is back on the big screen this week in French movie Beautiful Lies and she admits that she is happy to continue working in her home country's film industry.
Speaking to The Independent she said: "I've never really had a relationship with Hollywood. I've never had a desire to work there.
"I think I have a lot of luck in French cinema and they give me great female roles. I don't think that I would get such a choice in Hollywood."
"It might seem paradoxical given my profession, but I'm not someone who likes to be in the limelight.
"That is not something that corresponds to who I am and what I want to be. I'm not saying that if I had gone to Hollywood that being thrown into the star system would definitely have happened, but I don't feel comfortable about being the person that everyone is looking at."
Tautou grabbed everyone's attention with Amelie back in 2001 and despite a string of Hollywood offers she has made just a single American movie The Da Vinci Code.
Beautiful Lies is released 12th August.
