Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn has been voted as the ultimate cinema screen beauty.

The Breakfast at Tiffany's star beat off competition from current actresses such as Angelina Jolie and Keira Knightley as well as screen legends like Grace Kelly.

The actress shot to stardom in 1953 for her role in Roman Holiday, for which she won and Oscar, Golden Globe and Bafta for her performance.

She became one of the most successful film actresses with roles in Breakfast at Tiffany's, Sabrina, My Fair lady and The Nun's Story.

Other acting legends also made the list with Grace Kelly at three, Marilyn Monroe at four and Sophie Loren at five.

However they didn't have it all their own way as Angelina Jolie was the highest placed modern day actress at number two.

There were also spots for Catherine Zeta Jones, Keira Knightley and Halle Berry inside the top ten.

Vogue's Nicola Moulton told the Daily Telegraph: "A great cinematic beauty by definition has to look amazing in motion, not just in pictures."

"Audrey Hepburn is clearly a timeless beauty, explaining why she is the nation's choice."
