Ashley Greene calls new movie Skateland a 'departure from Alice Cullen.
The actress shot to fame in the vampire franchise Twilight in recent years but takes on a very different role on the Anthony Burns directed movie.
Speaking to MTV News the actress said: "I was really excited, because it was definitely a departure from Alice Cullen. I think it was two years ago, so I'm excited it's finally coming out.
"I basically read the script, and I was really drawn to the character because Michelle - she's strong and she's vulnerable, and I feel like you don't get that a lot with female roles in films.
"She's kind of the headstrong girl in the movie, and she knows what she wants and she's confident and, you know, a no-bull kind of girl."
Skateland brings together a cast that includes Shiloh Fernandez, from Red Riding Hood, and A.J. Buckley.
Greene however will be reprising the role of Alice in Breaking Dawn - Part 1 at the end of the year as the Twilight Saga begins to draw to a close.
